Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder among women in which the woman develops several cysts on their ovaries, mainly due to irregular menstruation or amenorrhea (absence of menstrual cycles. Common symptoms included obesity/ weight gain, acne, hirsutism (increased growth of corporal hair), male pattern baldness (hair loss), insulin resistance, skin tags, high cholesterol and even a strong appetite for sex (promiscuity). Question: Can I take herbal medications so I don’t get diabetes?
Answer: DEFINITELY NO.
Not because herbs or their ingredients don’t work but because herbal supplements once registered as supplements are approved by the local agency or even the US FDA as foods. Therefore these products don’t have to undergo the same rigorous testing for effectiveness and safety as the usual prescription medications.
