In lay man’s term, this means that diabetes tends to lower “good” cholesterol levels and raise triglyceride and “bad” cholesterol levels, which results to diabetic dyslipidemia, which can increase a patient at risk for premature coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis or the clogging of the arteries.
