Coffee is very common beverage that is often drunk to get a person going in the morning. In some cases, especially for night shift employees like call center agents, coffee is used to keep oneself up and awake. This is precisely because coffee can increase energy levels as it contains a stimulant called caffeine. The caffeine that travels in the brain blocks an inhibitory neurotransmitter called Adenosine and increase neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine that improve cognitive function including memory, mood, vigilance, energy levels, and reaction times.
