Skin Allergies and Diabetes
Diabetes is no joke. It is truly saddening to know that many people do suffer from this kind of sickness. It is also saddening to know how people are coping up so hard just to fight the battle. If we could just wish everyone in the world would be free from sickness, then, many people will never suffer again from diabetes. Diabetes destroys not only the health of a person but also brings complications as well. The most common complication is a skin disease.
Five Skin Problems of a Diabetic Person
Diabetes has a lot of complication. It is not limited to certain things only. In fact, it has affected a number of people already. Yet, there is still no freedom from this disease.
- Acanthosis Nigricans – This skin disease happens when the skin in body folds and creases, then later on, it becomes dark, thick, and velvety. This is a big problem for people whenever they develop this disease. In addition to this, this happens to a person who is very overweight. His weight has made him suffer from skin infection.
- Disseminated Granuloma Annulare – This is a skin problem which is produced when there is a raised, bumpy, or ring-shaped spots. The skin is usually red, or red-brown. Most of the time, it happens in the fingers and ears. Some people have said that they experienced mild itching due to his one. There is no cure for this because the rashes automatically disappear.
- Digital Sclerosis – This skin disease is obtained by people with type 1 diabetes. This is seen when there is a thick, tight, waxy skin that develops on the backs of the hands. This is also a serious skin problem.
- Bacterial Infection – It is an infection that is due to diabetes. Diabetic people are prone to this problem. Sometimes, it is easily seen in eyelid sty, boils, nail infections, and carbuncle. Basically, the area around infection is hot, red, and painful.
- Itching – Itchy skin can have many causes. If a person has diabetes then he or she is also prone to this. When this happens, a person may consider bathing less often. He or she must also use a mild soap for his or her skin.
