Similar to our local baked tahong versions, this is a slightly upscale version using almonds. Â If it is not available, you can replace it with other types of nuts.
Yield: 6 to 8 portions
Ingredients:
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 stalks parsley, chopped
- 4 tablespoons margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup wheat breadcrumbs soaked in
- 2 tablespoons white wine
- 1/2 cup ground almonds or other nuts
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1kg mussels, cooked and cleaned
Procedures:
- Preheat oven to 425F.
- Combine garlic, parsley and margarine.
- Squeeze breadcrumbs dry before adding to the margarine mixture.
- Finally, add the almonds (or other nuts) and season with salt and pepper.
- Layout mussels on a baking tray and put a little of the topping on each.
- Bake for 5-6 minutes.
