A Tea is an aromatic beverage typically prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured leaves. Tea is especially popular in South Asia and Middle East Asia and had been associated with good health for its many health benefits. Following are some benefits of a tea.

Antioxidants. Tea contains antioxidants or chemicals that stop free radicals that degenerate or damage living cells or tissues that in turn can lead to diseases like cancer. As such, it protects the body from the depredation of aging, pollution and vices such as smoking and alcohol drinking.

Increase immune defense. Tea helps enhance the body’s immune system to fight off infection and diseases. It helps keep cells, tissues that make up the natural immune system strong to fight against germs and microorganism.

Improves metabolism. Tea helps people to improve body metabolism or the life-sustaining chemical transformations within living cells that allow it grow and reproduce, maintain its structures, and be healthy. This is also especially helpful for people who are losing weight. Tea improves the rate of food digestion and burning of fat.

Improved bones. Tea has natural phytochemicals that help make bones stronger by improving bone mineral density and strength even for people who have vices such as smoking or drinking alcohol. Since it is beneficial to bones, it also protects teeth from tooth decay giving people sweeter smiles.

Keeps person hydrated. Tea keep out bodies hydrated or have sufficient water which is important considering that our bodies are 75% composed of water.

Protection from ultraviolet rays. Tea protects the skin from UV rays which can damage the skin. This is especially important considering the increasing temperature of the earth. In fact, tea drinking protect people from cellular degeneration upon exposure to radiation.

Better nervous system. Tea helps prevent neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. It has polyphenols that help sustain learning and memory functions of the brain.
