Essential Oils for Diabetes

Aromatherapy or the use of essential oils can be generally beneficial to all people. For people with diabetes, essential oils that are especially used are those which help assist with improving circulation, which is a common problem among diabetics. Here are essential oils for diabetic patients.

Black pepper oil – is extracted from the plant Piper nigrum of the Piperaceae family. This warm and spicy essential oil helps increase warmth of the body and mind for relieving sore muscles and joints, boost the immune and digestive system, stimulate the kidneys and disperse bruising by increasing circulation to the skin.

Eucalyptus oil – is extracted from Eucalyptus globulus (Tasmanian blue gum). This is used to help clear the mind for improving concentration, while reducing swelling in the mucus membranes. It is very valuable in fighting respiratory problems, fighting inflammation and sore muscles, rheumatism, headaches and nervous exhaustion, while boosting wound and ulcer healing and soothing skin eruptions.

Geranium oil – is extracted from the plant Pelargonium odorantissimum. It has a strong smell oil with a hint of mint. It helps balance the mind and emotions, while stimulating the adrenal cortex and balancing the hormonal system and stimulating the lymphatic system. On the other hand, it balances the production of sebum in the skin for healing wounds.

Juniper oil – is extracted from Juniperus communis. This crisp oil helps stimulate and strengthen the nerves and bolster the spirits, and relieve urine retention. It is used for treating rheumatism, arthritis and gout, as well as cellulite, acne, dermatitis, blocked pores, psoriasis and weeping eczemas.
