Eng Bee Tin acquires food X-ray machine

Everybody’s favorite hopia store has just gotten better! Eng Bee Tin, located in Ongpin street in Manila, recently added a food X-ray machine and can now boast of a fully automated hopia manufacturing process with strict hygienic control.

Eng Bee Tin’s main guy Gerry Chua shares that with a food X-ray machine, his customers are assured of good food that is both safe and luscious.Even before adapting a food X-ray machine, Chua already used metal detectors that examine the quality of the final product. But metal detectors do not thoroughly detect foreign objects, so he opted to acquire a more high-tech machine.

“What is important for me is the safety of the consumers even at high cost,” Chua says. Chua is a hands-on businessman who even made some of the recipes himself. Over the years, he has mastered the art of making the popular ube-flavored hopia, the store’s bestseller. Eng Bee Tin now offers ube hopia lite especially catered to diabetic patients and health buff hopia aficionados.

Eng Bee Tin has been in business for 90 years. Other Chinese delicacies aside from hopia like tikoy, mooncake, ampao rice and peanut cakes are available in various supermarkets, groceries, restaurants, offices and school canteens. The company also exports products to customers in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States.
