Caviar Pate

Caviar, the pickled roe of a sturgeon or other large fish, is touted as a delicacy and an aphrodisiac. But beyond that, it also contains large amounts of vitamins and phosphorus. In this pate version, enjoy it with green onions (another famed aphrodisiac since prehistoric times, even mentioned in many class Hindu texts on the art of making love and commonly used as an aphrodisiac in ancient Greece).

Yield: 8 to 10 portions

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Low fat cottage chesse
  • 1/2 cup light sour cream
  • 1/2 piece lemon, juiced
  • 3 pieces green onion stems, chopped fine
  • 2 bunches parsley, chopped fine
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves, chopped fine
  • 3 pieces hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 4 tbsp caviar
  • 20 pieces multi-grain crackers

Procedures:

  1. Blend together cottage cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, green onions and parsley.
  2. Spoon out half of cheese mixture and flatten in serving container. Chill.
  3. Layer eggs evenly before topping with remaining cheese mixture.
  4. Finish with caviar spread evenly on top.
  5. Chill before serving.
  6. Serve with crackers
