What is a stroke?

According to the American Stroke Association, “A stroke is a disease of arteries leading to and within the brain. It occurs when a blood vessel that carries oxygen and nutrients to the brain is either blocked by a clot (ischemic stroke) or bursts (hemorrhagic stroke). When that happens, part of the brain cannot get the blood and oxygen it needs, so it starts to die.”

Toenail Discoloration Diabetes

Toenail discoloration is a staining of the nails into white, yellow, or greenish, which is a result from fungal infections particularly from Trichophyton rubrum. Another rare cause of toenail discoloration is the “yellow nail syndrome,” which is genetically inherited condition. Discoloration can also be caused by the disjointing of the nail from its nail bed called onycholysis. It can also be a symptom for diabetes and finally, it can also be related to the accumulation of fluids in the lungs, kidney or liver due to diseases. Because of this, any abnormal discoloration of toe nails should be immediately consulted to doctors for proper physical examination.
